HOLOCAUSTO CANIBAL To Perform In A Small Black Cube

Holocausto-Canibal- band 2013 500x400

Holocausto Canibal have been invited to be part of the Box Sized Die performance art piece by João Onofre.

This performance will be part of the exhibition Habitars[s].

The exhibition holds the trusteeship of Suzanne Cotter, Isabel Sousa Braga and João Silvério and includes works from the collections of Fundação de Serralves and Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento – FLAD. The band will play on two separate dates – the opening of the exhibition on 30th November 2013 at 5pm and the closing on February 22nd 2014 at 5pm. Both performances will take place in the premises of Palácio de Cristal, inside the municipal library Almeida Garret – Oporto.

Box Sized Die is a 183cm black metal cube padded with acoustic foam. Referencing a minimalist sculpture by Tony Smith, Onofre invites Holocausto Canibal to perform inside it. The work has no fixed duration – the band will perform until they believe the oxygen in the cube is running out, and exit for fear of death by suffocation. Brutal.

Holocausto Canibal joins the roster of bands which have already taken part in this performance, acts such as Konkhra, Dark Moon and Gorod.
