Spotlight Band: OPUS OF A MACHINE

OPUS OF A MACHINE to Release Debut 'Simulacra' on November 16th

Another beauty of a find, this time in the form of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia quartet, Opus Of A Machine.

With plethora musical heroes, Opus of a Machine blends incredible technical proficiency and raw, pure emotion to create a blend of beautifully delicate and intricate, experimental prog rock.

The band say of themselves “Drawing influence from experimental bands by the likes of Tool, Opeth, Radiohead and Devin Townsend with a pounding electro and pop edge, “Opus of a Machine” pushes the creative boundaries […]melding mechanical and electronic aesthetics with dense and introspective hard-rock orchestration.”

Yep, nailed it. And nailed it so well.

Formed in 2012, Opus of a Machine began as a labour of love for guitarist Zac Greensill and vocalist/guitarist Mitchell Legg, who over a large period of growth, laid the foundations for their debut LP. With bassist Dale Prinsse and drummer Trevor Gee joining in mid 2013, the energy and passion that lifts their recorded work made it’s way to the live arena. Following a string of live shows with the likes of Caligula’s HorseJericcoGuards of MayMass Sky RaidThe Orchard and other outstanding bands throughout 2014, Opus of a Machine is now intent on forging a path onto the international stage.

This cracking debut should virtually guarantee that path.

Following one single released in November of 2013 which is available to download free (click below), the band’s debut album ‘Simulacra’ is now set for release almost a full year later on November 16th 2014 and I highly suggest checking it out if any of the abovementioned bands tickle your proverbial fancy, because it sounds exquisite.

With a debut release as solid as this, the future looks very bright indeed for Opus Of A Machine.
